i’m here at neat. i got the job. and today i’m learning about extraction.
just like with baking and any other art form in food or beverage, coffee is a science. just like when i exploded churros all over my parents’ kitchen, if you mess up one small step…the grind, the water temperature, the water weight, the amount of coffee, the cup will be completely off.
i’m afraid i’m already hooked into the science behind it all.
at neat, they make coffee using a clever dripper. it’s similar to a french press, but with a filter to get all of the oils and grit out of the coffee. you’re left with an incredibly crisp cup of coffee that is balanced and flavorful.
this is the beginning of a special relationship.
